Last week, the McColl Center started the install of Bruno Ruganzu’s sculptural play elements (a butterfly and caterpillar) at Anita Stroud Park in Brightwalk. We had a great turn out with 20 volunteers, 12 of them being Piedmont Natural Gas summer college interns. They were fantastic at helping us trouble shoot and making sure we put them in right. Ruganzu still needs to seal up the gaps in the tires, paint them, and some landscaping will be done to make it complete.
We are gearing up for our next volunteer day with Duke Energy on July 31st where we raise the wings that will anchor the playscape. Check it out!
Bruno is an artist-in-residence at McColl Center for Art + Innovation as ArtPlace America Environmental Artist-in-Residence.
Save the Date: On August 5th from 5-8 pm: Ruganzu playground opening picnic!
