Charlotte Goes Green

It’s time for the 18th annual St. Patrick’s Day parade in downtown Charlotte this Saturday. The parade steps off at 11 a.m. at Tryon and 9th street in uptown Charlotte. It then marches south to 3rd Street where it takes a left and marches down 3rd St. to Caldwell. Over 70,000 spectators watched Charlotte’s 17th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade as it marched through the heart of Charlotte to the sound of pipes and the cheers of the spectators lining the streets. The parade has grown to be one of Charlotte’s biggest and best. Following the parade is the Charlotte Goes Green Festival. The Festival is located on S. Tryon St. between 3rd St. and Stonewall St. Hours are 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and features Irish music, Irish dancers, bagpipers, Irish/Celtic and other vendors, a large children’s amusement area and plenty of food & beverages. Admission is free.
