Color Run comes to Charlotte

On November 17, Charlotte Motor Speedway will host the city’s first Color Run, a 5K that turns runners’ crisp white gear into paint canvases. Participants are splattered with colored cornstarch as they hurtle toward the finish line. This splashy twist on the racing craze has attracted crowds from Denver to Philadelpia; Charlotte’s event sold out with 12,000 runners. The Color Run benefits different charities wherever it’s held, and a portion of Charlotte’s proceeds will benefit Habitat for Humanity. Starting times are between 9 and 10:30 a.m., and there’s no fee for spectators. Get color bombed!
