Today with the impeding rain (it never rained) we headed to Discovery Place on North Tryon–the heart of downtown Charlotte. We were in time to see Flight of the Butterflies at IMAX. Let me just say–fantastic! We all loved it (from the youngest at 4 years old all the way up past 40!). It’s only 44 minutes long and tells the tale of the iconic monarch butterfly and its long migration patterns. Not only fantastic, but beautiful to watch. And while you’re there, stop in the Community Cafe for a cupcake (er, or maybe something a little more healthy)–our friends at Something Classic do a great job!
Check out discoveryplace.org for show times.
And check out Mixology on July 11. Sold out last year it combines science and celebration (not to mention a fundraiser for funding innovative science-based programming in early childhood education and community outreach. As part of an exciting event series, this summer event will feature Monarchs & Martinis. Enjoy a cocktail hour and a showing of the breathtaking IMAX® film Flight of the Butterflies. Tickets can be purchased at the Discovery Place website.
