Halloween is in the air

I’ll admit it—mine is the house on the block with the big black witch and 10 carved pumpkins in the front yard, complete with candy corn orange twinkle lights. I love Halloween and have a line up of fun events happening this weekend in Charlotte. Here are just a few close to Brightwalk:

Music, Monsters & Mayhem: 7 p.m. Oct. 27, N.C. Music Factory, 1000 NC Music Factory Blvd. Costume contest winner gets $5,000 cash prize, one ticket –$10 in advance, $15 at gate if still available – good for numerous parties and venues.

Family-friendly Very Big Goblin Bash: 1-5 p.m. Oct. 28, VBGB Beer Garden, N.C. Music Factory, 920 Hamilton St. Face painting and bounce house, plus 1:30 p.m. Jr. Cornhole Tournament, 2 p.m. costume parade with prizes, 3 p.m. trick or treating (parents asked to donate one bag of candy) and 4 p.m. “School of Rock” performance followed by Children’s Talent Show.

Shake Your Ghoul Thing: 8 p.m. Oct. 27, McGlohon Theater at Spirit Square, 345 N. College St., Charlotte. Carolina Voices’ pop and jazz ensemble, Impromptu, will kick off Halloween week with a spooky and quirky musical event.
