How to help those in Oklahoma

There’s no doubt, I bleed Red Cross red. I started my career at American Red Cross and have volunteered throughout. When a tragedy happens like the one in Oklahoma this week, the Red Cross springs into action by mobilizing the power of volunteers and the generosity of donors. Ninety-one cents of every dollar goes to fulfill its mission. This has been a major disaster, and the Red Cross will be there for the people in this state and this community. People who wish to make a donation can support American Red Cross Disaster Relief, which helps provide food, shelter and emotional support to those affected by disasters by visiting redcross.org, dialing 1-800-REDCROSS or texting REDCROSS to 90999 to make a $10 donation. Other things you can do to help–Give blood this week. Download the Red Cross Tornado App for Tornado alerts (go to Redcrosschat..org for directions on how to download for iPhone and Droid). It is clear the days ahead are grave for the people of Oklahoma and the need for help will be immense.
