The Ziad Jazz Quartet will transport concertgoers back in time October 4 during the Jazz at the Bechtler performance of 1968 – The Year in Jazz. Connecting with the exhibition Modernism in Changing Times: Works From 1968, the museum’s jazz concert series will also highlight this pivotal year.
In 1968 as visual art was emerging from abstraction to Pop art and minimalism, jazz was emerging from the post-bop era to electronic and R&B. Concerts are performed at 6 and 8:15 p.m. with no intermissions. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. for the 6 p.m. concert and 7:45 p.m. for the 8:15 p.m. concert. Seating is first come, first served.
