Playground Build Volunteering with Ruganzu Bruno

 

What:  Artplace Environmental Artist-in-Residence Ruganzu Bruno will be installing a playscape that celebrates the life cycle of a butterfly.  Natural and reclaimed materials are used whenever possible.  But we need lots of hands to get it all in the ground.  Listed at the bottom are the 4 play settings.

Who:  You!  We need your help to build the playscape in your community park

When:  July 17th 9am-4pm (Caterpillar and Chrysalis)

July 31st 9am-4pm (Egg and Butterfly)

You are welcome to drop in and volunteer for any length of time

Don’t forget a water bottle, sunscreen, and closed toed shoes!

Egg:                        Planted grass maze in the shape of a leaf (where the eggs are laid)

Caterpillar:          Sunk tires in   the ground to look like caterpillars

Chrysalis:             Special stump seating with chrysalis motifs will be placed in a circle

Butterfly:             Two large metal framed wing sculptures will be placed at the entrance. Vines will be planted to grow up the wings like a trellis. Between the two sculptures will be an earthen mound with a slide built in.
