In just a few short weeks, Charlotte will be in the national spotlight when the National Democratic Convention sets up to host delegations, media, celebrities and a political who’s who September 3-6 in Downtown Charlotte.
Charlotte is kicking off convention week with CarolinaFest 2012 — a family-friendly, free and open-to-the-public festival in uptown Charlotte. Dubbed the most open and accessible conventions in history, Charlotte is ready! The convention’s first two days of official business will be at Time Warner Cable Arena, on Tuesday, September 4, and Wednesday, September 5. On Thursday September 6, President Obama will accept the nomination at Bank of America Stadium, where once again the public will be invited to attend.
Communications are coming out daily on alternate work plans (for those who work downtown), CMS schedule, protestors, night life during the convention, special events and most importantly, detours and street closings. For more information on the convention, please visit www.charlottein2012.com.
The DNC in Charlotte is a historic opportunity to tell Charlotte’s story and make the most of visibility brought by the convention to visitors from around the world. Charlotte is ready!
